PMSM Parameter Estimation for Sensorless FOC Based on Differential Power Factor

During the last years, different methods for identifying permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) parameters have been developed. Such allow a better characterization of PMSMs, thus enabling control. This article presents novel PMSM parameter estimation method based on differential power factor due to harmonic distortion, which allows identification from data acquisitions representing entire torque-speed range. does not require measuring any geometric parameters, avoiding disassembly, or prior knowledge applied field oriented control (FOC) strategy. It also enables current, voltage, and dq components flux linkage without knowing rotor position. The proposed is electrical model that considers magnitudes. avoids apply optimization technique, requiring low computational burden. first validated experimentally by comparing identified current space vector against acquired one using resolver associated with commercial drive. Finally, it further second sensorless drive, inductances ground truth obtained method.
